These are just a few of the ice sculptures I was commissioned to carve. Ice is a challenging and beautiful medium! The large blocks are 1000mm x 500mm x 300mm. I typically began by blocking out the shape using an electric chain saw and then moved to using ice chisels (which are long handled, large chisels) and finally doing some finishing work with a large rotary tool and special metal toothed bits.
